Case Study

Case studies provide a detailed overview of what was done, why and how it was done, and the lessons learned. The aim is for others to be able to understand, learn from, and build on the experiences of the author. Key components of the case study format include real examples of resources and processes from practice, quotes from participants, and recommendations for future improvement.

Case studies are to be submitted using the template provided. They are to be a maximum of 2,000 words.

Research Paper

Many people comment on the relative lack of empirical research in the area of eportfolios in general, and the use of PebblePad in particular. We invite proposals from anyone who has conducted research that supports the use of eportfolio spaces, fits within the themes of Personalising the Curriculum, and would be of interest to the delegates attending PebbleBash 2014. Research papers do not necessarily need to focus on the use of PebblePad in particular. A research paper will be more formal in presentation than a case study and will be required to include a review of the literature, presentation of data, discussion of findings, and full referencing throughout.

Research papers must follow the guidelines provided. They are to be between 2,500 and 5,000 words in length.

Pecha Kucha

A Pecha Kucha is a presentation in which 20 slides are shown for 20 seconds each. These presentations are designed to be concise and fast-paced. They provide an opportunity for the speaker to tell a story supported by engaging images and aim to prompt further discussion after the presentation.

Pecha Kucha proposals must be submitted using the template provided. The proposal is to be a maximum of 300 words.

Many people come to conferences with a particular topic in mind that they hope to have the opportunity to discuss with other delegates. The Facilitated Discussion provides the opportunity to make this part of the program. The author(s) will present a topic and some key questions and facilitate a discussion aimed at achieving some identified outcomes.

Facilitated Discussion proposals be submitted using the template provided. The proposal is to be a maximum of 300 words (as per the template).
