Pre-conference Workshops - Monday 12th September 2016

Highly interactive, super informative, and always good fun. We have the challenge of making sure our workshops live up to expectations, leaving you with the challenge of not only choosing which session you’d most like to attend during the day, but also what scrumptious delights you’d like to enjoy with your new friends at the evening meal in the beautiful Ironbridge.

  • Workshop one (Full Day) - Implementing and growing the use of PebblePad at your institution [Room LR3]
A day of activities and discussion about how to achieve successful implementations. Drawing upon the widely used and highly valued Implementation Toolkit participants will be guided through a series of activities leading to the development of plans and strategies for success. All participants will be provided with a complete toolkit and supporting resources.
Facilitated by Colin Dalziel and Gail Ring
  • Workshop Two (Morning) - Improving assessment and feedback: ATLAS as an enterprise electronic submission and feedback system [Room LR2]
An opportunity to explore some of the latest features of ATLAS in its current guise and an opportunity to preview new features, designs and aspirations for the ATLAS v5 (expected Jan 17). This session also includes a discussion of reporting.
Facilitated by Matthew Wheeler, Aaron Kenny and Paul Taras
  • Workshop Three (Morning) - Managing placement and work-based learning in PebblePad [Room LR1]
This workshop is part troubleshooting, part idea-storming and all about making it easier to manage large groups of users working away from the institution on placements, projects and internships.
Facilitated by Deb Holmes and John Couperthwaite
  • Workshop Four (Afternoon) - Managing personal tutoring and postgraduate study with PebblePad [Room LR2]
Flourish has had an initial release with selected institutions over this past year, offering some vital new tools which will be explored in this session, along with standard P+ and ATLAS tools already used to great effect in this context. There will also be an opportunity to help co-design future developments in Flourish.
Facilitated by John Couperthwaite and Matthew Wheeler
  • Workshop Five (Afternoon) – Managing competency-based learning with PebblePad [Room LR4]
Creating and managing competences (capabilities, skills, attributes…) and competency frameworks. This workshop will explore validation and reporting mechanisms as well as drawing upon the experience of the participants to reimagine how a future PebblePad competency engine might work.
Facilitated by Toni Lavender, Deb Holmes and Alison Poot
  • Workshop Six (Afternoon) - Get it off your chest-a-thon! [Room LR1]
Building upon the success of our User Experience Forum this workshop will provide an opportunity to talk directly with PebblePad’s product owners, designers and developers to share with them your frustrations, ideas and amazing insights to help us help you through an improved PebblePad experience.
Facilitated by Brad Rushton, Paul Taras, Aaron Kenny and Ste Davies
